Overview
BoxIndex ("the App") is a home inventory manager developed by Zarzara. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
BoxIndex is designed with privacy as a foundation. The App does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and does not connect to any server or cloud service. Everything stays on your device.
Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII).
All data you enter into the App — item names, photos, descriptions, room names, tags, quantities — is stored locally on your device only. None of this data is sent to Zarzara or any third party.
Device Permissions
Each permission is requested only when you use the relevant feature and only for the purpose described above.
- Camera — used to photograph items, containers, and locations directly from the App. Photos are stored only on your device.
- Photo Library — used to select existing photos for any item or location entry. No photos are uploaded or shared.
- Notifications — used optionally to send local push notifications. No data leaves your device through this permission.
Local Data Storage
Your inventory data is stored exclusively in your device's local storage. Zarzara has no access to this data.
If you delete the App, all associated data stored on your device will be removed. We strongly recommend exporting your inventory (via the JSON or ZIP export in Settings) before uninstalling.
Third-Party Services
The current version of BoxIndex does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs.
Future versions may include optional cloud backup or advertising. If and when any third-party service is introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated in advance and the updated policy will be visible within the App.
Data Export
BoxIndex allows you to export your inventory as a JSON file or a ZIP archive. These files are saved to a location you choose on your device. Zarzara does not receive a copy of any export and has no access to its contents.
You are responsible for the security of any exported files.
Children's Privacy
BoxIndex does not knowingly collect any information from anyone. The App contains no user accounts, no network communication, and no social features. It is safe for use by all ages.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and on our website at zarzara.app. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
